Hey all,

The end of the 2011 term is near, and with it comes our yearly officer elections. The available officer positions in the club are as follows:

• President
  
• Vice-President
  
• Secretary
  
• Treasurer
  
• Director of Events

If you are interested in running for one of the above officer seats, please either reply to this thread with the position you're running for, or e-mail staff@lanknights.net with your intent to participate in our elections. Participants in the election will be allowed to campaign in the forums to recruit voters.

Elections will be held at a later date this year. We are still trying to work out either a face-to-face meeting to vote or an online voting system depending on the date and member availability. In accordance with our Constitution and rules, only paid-members will be able to vote in our elections.

Once elections are finalized, the winners will be announced and they will start their term at the beginning of 2012.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please place them in this thread or contact staff at staff@lanknights.net with your question and we'll look into your inquiries.

Q: Is the staff aware that there are complaints about the noise level at the past LAN event?
A: The Staff has only two complaints on record during the lan about the same instance. However, the staff is now aware thanks to your feedback that there is an issue and are working on resolving the problem as soon as possible.

Q: Why is Jordan "Gamma" Toor still on LANKnights staff?
At this point, no one else has applied for the Web Admin appointed position. We need someone with expertise in server administration, PHP/AJAX coding proficiency, and free time and dedication. Gamma has been gracious enough to stay and help in that capacity. The Staff is very grateful to Jordan for volunteering his free time to help with the website as a UCF alumni. If you are interested and capable of applying for that position, we urge you to contact staff@lanknights.net as a current UCF student would be suitable for that position.

Q: Will the projector and communication technology be more efficiently leveraged at the next LAN?
Yes, Staff will be revisiting our powerpoint displays, broadcast systems, and network based tools such as Mumble for use during the next LAN. We'll be sharing more as we get updates.

Hey guys,

My girlfriend's current lease ends July 31st and we'll be rooming together for the fall, but we need a roommate for a 2/2 apartment. We have a list of apartments in mind, but none of them is solid because we still haven't found a roommate and we would really like one so we can sign the lease with them.
