So Gamestop offered us a section at Knightrokon to have a LAN. It's kind of short notice since the event is this Saturday, and it's also the beginning of spring break. However, if there is enough interest, we will do our best to make it happen. We are looking for your opinion, so please vote in the poll at the top, and feel free to discuss it. This is just to gauge interest, and is not a LAN RSVP.

I don't have work this Saturday, and work demands I skip the lan on the 10th, so I might be up for it, if we get enough support.

I know lots of ppl will be going out of town for a spring break, I think it would be best to focus our efforts on a lan that a lot of the members can attend.

If necessary we can store it in my office.

edit: Also, question. Would we be expected to bring things and run events at the Con? Or is it simply our duty to host the lan in the space and let people bring their own shit?

This. I'm already planning on being out by thursday night. We're definitely going to be missing a lot of the in state students.

I may be interested, but what is Knightrokon anyways? I saw anime club, but then I heard things about them. So not even sure if I would want to go.

We're looking into this, but as far as I'm concerned we are not expected to run events at the con, just host the LAN.

I should have phrased that a little better. My question is do they want Lanknights "The Club" to show up, or are they asking Lanknights "The Staff" to show up? i.e. did they plan a lan and then decide to put us in charge of it, or are they just looking to get more warm bodies in the room by attaching to the club?

Either way, I don't have shit goin on and could be available to help out.

LANKnights the club. I think they planned for a LAN, but need people to run and attend the PC portion. That was my impression anyways.

Judging from the event flyer, Anime Spot expected us to set up computers for people to use: http://knightrokon.f...06/gameroom.png

"UCF's LAN knights club will be setting up computers for people to get their online game on."

I'm not sure where they got this idea. We don't provide computers for public use, and we never have.

That aside, it seems as though several staff members (including myself) won't be attending. If this goes through we'll need to designate someone to take care of our equipment.

Update: The anime club are the people who made that flyer, not gamestop.

I think we already knew that. I think anime club needs to be notified of what our club actually does. We don't own a single end-user usable computer in our club inventory.

WHAT IS YOUR CAT SIG DOING?! Seriously, what's up with your cat sig? It drives me nuts that I can't recognize it from anything.

Also, we've had a long history of anime club having very prominent communication issues with our club... Maybe it was the amount of chairs we threw at them, who knows? *shrug*
