We welcome everyone to join us in attending the 2012 LANKnights Second Spring LAN! It's the second LAN of the semester, and we'll be featuring an exciting variety of new and classic games.

We will also be featuring both a GoldenEye: Source tournament, and a Killing Floor tournament, the winners of which will receive Please note that you must be a due-paying member to be eligible to receive prizes.

We hope to see you there!

Here is the LAN schedule:

• 12:00pm to 1:00pm - Setup and lunch
  
• 1:00pm to 3:00pm - Tribes Ascend and Space Marine
  
• 3:00pm to 5:00pm - Killing Floor Tournament
  
• 5:00pm to 7:00pm - Dinner and Free Play
  
• 7:00pm to 9:00pm - GoldenEye: Source Tournament
  
• 9:00pm to 11:30pm - DotA 2 and Neotokyo Source
  
• 11:30pm to 12:00am - Pack Up/Closing

Tribes Ascend and DotA 2 are both in beta and, as such, require that players each have beta access.
Players can apply for the Tribes Ascend beta on the game's website,
and for the DotA 2 beta by filling out the hardware survey on Steam.
GoldenEye: Source is a free Source mod that can be downloaded here.
Neotokyo is a free Source mod that can be downloaded here.
Source Forts is also a free Source Mod that can be downloaded here.
Space Marine can be purchased via Steam here.

Please note that, because of the small capacity, we are initially only allowing paid LK members to RSVP.
The RSVP will be open to everyone at a later date.

do i have to have half life to play Neotokyo and source forts? also i only have 2 out of all the games listed, what would i do while other games being played? sorry for these stupid questions, kinda new to pc gaming, ucf and LAN scene other than just friends over lan partys.

I believe the Source SDK is free (since Alien Swarm came out and was free to everyone, I remember a hullabaloo about everyone now technically owning a Source game and deserving access to mods), so you shouldn't have an issue there. It would be better to try it before the event.

Depending on the games you own, there are always sessions of SC2 (ಠ_ಠ) or free to play games going on. Even if you can't find a game to play with someone else, a lot of people choose to catch up on some single player, or get up and socialize with others at the LAN. If there is a console, maybe take a moment to see what is being played, most games are 2-4 players on those.

No; from what I understand, both Alien Swarm and TF2 give you access to the Source SDK required to play Source mods, and both are free-to-play. This means you will be able to play both Neotokyo and Source Forts. Tribes Ascend and DotA 2 are free, as long as you have a beta key. Killing Floor is on sale for $3 until 7pm tomorrow.

The shirts will be ordered the following monday after the LAN so we'll probably get them mid-march.

Access to the members only forum has to be manually done after you've paid your dues.

Yup! Computer, power strip, monitor, any peripherals(we recommend bringing whatever microphone you use, even if it's a LAN). Don't forget your power cable as well!

I fixed your group settings. You paid electronically and it doesn't inform me of new payments, and a little bit needs to be done manually. You're all set!

Is it alright if i use another account to do the Dota 2 tournie? Brother got an invite but not me, and i basically use his acct to play it because he doesnt have a computer at the moment. Let me know

Edit: I'm pretty sure we are just playing dota2, not having a tournament.
