THREAD HIJACK.

Not sure if the new Bella Omega is better or not, have to give it more time. Soldier starting out with the Assault Rifle/Thumper DX instead of Spinfusor/Eagle Pistol is really shitty.

Light Spinfusor got nerfed in a sort unexpected way. Theoretically, DPS is the same since you can fire more often to make up for the decrease in damage per shot. However, you typically don't fire right when the next shot is loaded, but when you have a good shot ready. So the over all fire rate is around the same, but you're doing less damage. This may be to get pathfinders out of a combat roll, in order to put more emphasis on bugging out and focusing on capping, but I'm not sure if it's a good change.

Then again, I'm a noob to the franchise.

You're probably right, and if you upgrade your armor max the spinfusor's use is much more for movement than damage (i.e. boosting self or knocking enemies away).

I guess the only reason that I can't complain about the soldier unlocks is that I bought them first thing...

But hey, nitpicking balancing is a good sign the game's in good shape!
