9:00 PM - 11:00 PM PC Gaming Enthusiasts Club First Meeting of the Year Pensacola Board Room 222

Topics Include:

Shirts

Constitution

PR Position

Consoles at LANs

----
Derek Reese, Secretary
Minutes:

Meeting called at 9:00pm by Thomas "MajorLag" Bouchenot, President.

Derek "tachyon" was late, the rotting bastard.

Items:
1. Discussion on Election Date
A vote was taken: 11 in favor of march (the President had the tiebreaker on additional options) Adrian noted that we violate the constitution by changing the election cycle.

The constitution will be updated.

2. PR Officer
Brad "doomz" stepped down from the position. Thomas enumerated the position's details and responsibilities. Raven091 nominated himself, and JP nominated himself. Whiplash contemplated a nomination.

DoublePointer made it a POINT to mention Hookers and blow.

3. Consoles at LANs
11 were in favor of consoles at LANS, with 5 against. Options voted on were: Other Room, Separate Event, Specific Event, Specific Games, Officer Position, and BYOC Required. The majority voted in favor of BYOConsole. The majority voted for Staff approval as it pertains to which games.

Adrian would like to note: "Status Quo pew pew Oen"

The majority voted against assigning an extra staff position.

Nyan

A vote was taken, with the majority in favor of expiration date on the decision.

Summary: A new Amendment; BYOConsole, with approval by staff on which consoles + games, including an expiration date on testing this amendment at the next LAN.

4. Gaming Knights
Mike "Brain?!" will be reviving Game Knights. Following that, there was a brief discussion on servers with an overview to be posted in the forum.

5. Additional LANs
A discussion on additional lans brought up by Whiplash; Live Oak, Ferrell Commons
*and LANFest!

6. The Last Thing
There is an opportunity to make LANKnights a sports club, but we have to do Community Serivce. LANKnights has a history of being a strong participant in intra-mural sports and competitions. The benefits include a priority in reservation tiers for UCF rentals and services.

New Business for next meeting:
LANFest, Shirt Design

I may be rather late, depending. That day is busy as heck for me.

No. This will probably be the only in-person member meeting. All other meetings will likely be over mumble.

We could do that, but I'd rather not. This is the only planned in-person member meeting, and among a few other things, there are two votes that really need to be taken (consoles and election month). If we make it streamed through mumble, than that might affect member turnout. I want as many members there as possible to really get an accurate representation of the club's decisions on the two issues.

Ideally, members should show up to every meeting. As a bare minimum though, I think members should show up to at least the first meeting of each semester and the election meeting. The only real reasons a member should miss them is if they have a job, class, or some emergency. Streaming it wouldn't help in any of those cases.

Blah, my last class ends at 2:45 PM and I live far away (Don't want to sit on campus for ~6 hours). Won't make it to this one.

This is exactly my feeling toward late-night club meetings. If I had already had to drive to UCF that day, I wouldn't be up for going to a late meeting. I'm only coming because I don't have class at all that day.

Might be able to go. The first UGC 6v6 TF2 match is tomorrow at 9:30 but it's only the preseason match so I'm not sure my team is participating. I'll have to check.

I also vouch for brain's engineering skills. He was quintessential in the last TF2 LANKnights tourney.

Well trust us on this. GET BRAIN?! I used to think that engineers were just a trash class that anyone could fill, but Brain really shows you how much a GOOD engineer can actually do for a team.
