Anyone want to take a trip over to Oveido, grab some Cici's, and go see Underworld: Awakening?

For anyone who hasn't seen at least the first two, I have all three existing movies on Bluray and can have a mini-party or something in advance. Pretty sure Awakening is picking-up the narrative thread of the first two movies, so I don't know how necessary the third (which is a prequel) is.

Taking suggestions on when for all this btw.

They provided the set-up for a proper sequel to Evolution at the end of that.

I'm not challenging their option to do it from a story standpoint. I just figured those movies never did too well and that they just weren't going to make another. I see they still have Kate Beckinsale for lead though so I guess they did better than I thought.

fake edit: Also what!? It topped box offices yesterday, and is available in IMAX?

Thus far they've been good, atmospheric movies on a subject we all know is popular. Add in the ridiculous gore factor and they're at least solid action movies if nothing else.

Kate Beckinsale is in my top 3 list of hothothothothothothothot so I'm down.

Oh yeah and vampires and action and stuff.
What does it matter how I loose it?

What I find amazing about here is that her outfit in Underworld is actually one of the more sensible action heroine outfits I've seen and she's still hotter in it than all the heroines in skimpier, form-fitting-er outfits (I blame the cape).

Idk, tight leather is pretty form fitting. I think it is a win win really, you know for all the action movie buffs...

Let's just say it gives the illusion of being able to protect her from... i dunno.. nasty splinters? It does better than most female armor*.

Yeah, so is there any interest in watching the first two movies beforehand and if so do we want to do it as a sort of all-day thing (watch the movies during the day then see the new one at night) or do we want to space it over two days (old movies one day, new movie another)?

Otherwise, Wednesday I'm pretty free and Sunday night I'm free. I've got more openings next week (probably).
