Currently in closed beta, with no real mention when open beta will begin. To get into the closed beta, you can either purchase a VIP starter pack for $30 usd or apply for a key from the Hirez website/Hi-command client.

If we get enough players in the closed beta before the next lan, or it goes into open beta before the next lan, how much interest would there be in playing it then?

Someone linked a penny arcade key give away in the chat box and I earned a key off that. Needless to say this is my first Tribes experience and it is/has been extremely enjoyable.

I would be interested in playing, but how would this be done at a LAN? Is there some way to get in the same game a friend is in?

I was a fan of the first Starseige Tribes game, mostly because of the mods. I do have closed beta access for Tribes Ascend. But seeing BF3 and Dungeon Defenders on possible list for next LAN, I highly doubt I'll play Tribes Ascend at the LAN over the other two games.

Yeah, we couldn't get it working at the LAN but someone else (can't remember who) had it working just fine. Maybe our switch didn't like us *rolleyes*

You are probably thinking of me. I played some T:A at the lan. Worked fine for me, and still does now. It seems to run a little choppy on some people computers from what I've read though.
