Hey all,

The end of the 2011 term is near, and with it comes our yearly officer elections. The available officer positions in the club are as follows:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Director of Events


If you are interested in running for one of the above officer seats, please either reply to this thread with the position you're running for, or e-mail staff@lanknights.net with your intent to participate in our elections. Participants in the election will be allowed to campaign in the forums to recruit voters.

Elections will be held at a later date this year. We are still trying to work out either a face-to-face meeting to vote or an online voting system depending on the date and member availability. In accordance with our Constitution and rules, only paid-members will be able to vote in our elections.

Once elections are finalized, the winners will be announced and they will start their term at the beginning of 2012.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please place them in this thread or contact staff at staff@lanknights.net with your question and we'll look into your inquiries.

Are there any specific openings/do any current staff plan to step down?

Every single position will be voted upon. If anyone plans to run once again, they need to state their intention to do so.

I will most likely step down due to grades and my spring/fall being my last semesters, but I'm not sure if other staff members will be staying or stepping down.

If someone would like to run for treasurer, I would be more than happy to not run again and have some fresh blood into the club. Seeing as I've never had opposition, I do not know if anyone will run.

So in essence, I will tentatively vouch for my next term as treasurer unless I see someone else having an interesting in doing it.

Been around the club long enough now that the ol' civic duty bell is starting to chime. I'm tentatively interested filling-in wherever I might be needed (outside of hardcore IT stuff, I have the skills to fit just about anywhere).

I am interested in running for Vice President. I hope that I can help iron some things about the club as well as getting due-paying member opinions on issues. Also I would like to change the incentives for paying dues in a positive matter, which can be discussed (branistormed) at a later time.
