Run For Your Lives

FAQ : http://runforyourlives.com/faq/

What : 5k run/obstacle course themed towards you running away from the incoming Zombie Apocalypse.

Quote

Runners will navigate a series of 12 obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!

Positives :
  • Zombies.
  • Beer.
  • Obstacle course.
  • Celebration!

Negatives :
  • Distance (Closest one will be Atlanta, which is probably ~7-8 hours of driving one-way).
  • Cost (57 to participate,22 to Spectate, gas+food for traveling)

Warrior Dash

FAQ : http://warriordash.com/faq.php

What : 5k run/obstacle course themed towards you being a total BADASS.

Quote

Warrior Dash is a mud-crawling, fire-leaping, extreme run from Hell. This fierce running series is held on the most challenging and rugged terrain across the globe. Warriors conquer extreme obstacles, push their limits and celebrate with kick-ass music, beer, and Warrior helmets.

Positives :
  • Same Idea as Run for Your Life except the theme is be a badass.
  • Distance(Looking at like a 2 hour drive instead).

Negatives :
  • Cost(Same kind of pricing).
  • Weather - All our events take place around the Winter, so it might be cold(at least by Florida standards). However, another idea would be to wait for another like the North Florida which is in March. If we did that, distance moves back towards the Negative.

Rebounderz

To summarize, Rebounderz is a room where the walls and floors are made up of trampolines. According to an e-mail I received, they also hold dodge ball when groups hold events there, so it should be a fun time.

Youtube Link - Dodgeball

Positives :
  • Dodge Ball
  • Trampolines
  • Distance (Only over in Longwood)

Negatives :
  • Maybe Cost (Depending on if I can get us a UCF group pass for cheap)

Thoughts? Anybody Interested?

You're suggesting 5 kilometer obstacle courses to people in a computer gaming club?

Rebounderz is fun, and if you can get a group rate it can be pretty cheap per person. Just, only do 30 minutes of it.

Some of those sound pretty cool if they are feasible Rebounderz seems really fun rather than excessively difficult.. I think there might be some other options.

Zombadge

A local idea that some of the engineering majors especially the freshmen should have heard about. Dr. Ducharme at UCF wants to teach 1000 people to solder by Halloween and then have a massive zombie infection manhunt-style game on campus with the finished zombadge chips. No technical experience required as classes are hosted at the UCF ideaLab.

ideaLab FAQ

Positives:
  • Cheap ($10)
  • At UCF

Negatives:
  • Requires work to build the actual zombadge chips.
  • Little information at this point.

+1 for Rebounderz. It's close enough that we could probably be able to manage it without infringing into anyone's schedules or pockets too much.

^ yeah, seems right. Idk if 30 minutes would be worth it though, Messer. I'm so into 5ks Cyragar, I did cross country in High School (I'm really, really bad though. Like 24:30 is my best 5k bad.) I would agree that the drive times and money for some of those that you mentioned may be too much, but overall i'm interested :) if we can find one a bit closer.
