Yeah, you did a fine job getting the idea going Messer, and I think it worked out pretty ok. Space Marine and Battlefield 3 and computer mix-ups contributed to a couple of people not having booted the game up proper in a bit and having some technical issues, but otherwise it went pretty well. Most of the issues can simply be slapped down to, "It was Video Game Night" which makes it really tough to communicate with everyone and which requires scheduling around 10,000 events (unfortunately the buck kept getting passed as to who was in charge of the event).

Anyway, since for any of these tournaments I'd be in a casting position until Tommy and Ghilgamesch decide they want to come to LANs (then we might be able to have a very different kind of 1v1 tournament as Cecil looked to display some solid talent as well), I'll take point on organizing so that we have one clear champion for the event that can work with staff and that staff knows who to go to.

And with that said, who's interested in a 2v2 tournament for at least one of the two upcoming events? I'd like to get that organized as early as possible so that we can flexibly rearrange teams (I don't want to completely admin balance- what I basically want to do is to let participants choose their partners and then just admin evaluate the selections and break-up as necessary, and I want to do that process early enough that players have time to get to know their partner in case it isn't who they originally wanted).

For the spring, I might even be interested in suggesting a league of sorts that allows for matches to be played between LANs and to have tournaments at LANs, with the "playoffs" being held at the final LAN.
