So, I've been trying to get my PS3 connected to the internet here at UCF. I've managed to register the MAC address and can now use the wired connection, but when I scan for a wireless connection, most of the connections come up as "Not Supported" for the security, and therefore I'm unable to connect to them. Any idea why this might be?

-Joe

P.S. The PS3 that I have is the original 60GB that was released at the launch of the console, if that's of any import.

Probably as far as why it won't connect, but why is the security not supported? Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? What kind of security does the UCF Wireless networks use?

This is the first I've heard of this issue. I've had people with 360's and (I think) PS3's and they got online. Then again they were in the towers with their own router. Perhaps you could borrow a router to see if it works then buy your own? I suppose that would depend on where you're living. Not sure why the security wouldn't be supported, though. Maybe Microsoft bought 'em out.

It probably just depends on where your staying on campus. So my question is, where are you staying on campus? haha
Gonna play some:
  • Mass Effect
  • Mass Effect 2
  • Fallout 3: New Vegas
