I enjoyed the original and its expansions, though I didn't finish but a fraction of the story. I'll probably make a decision once we get closer to the release date.

EDIT: Maybe, because the current popular F2P models suck and I want nothing to do with them.

1) You cannot tag mobs (So someone can't AOE an entire group of quest mobs all for themselves)
2) Dynamic skill bar (changes with wep equipped)
3) A lot of customization
4) Dynamically scaling events (Warhammer had Public Quest, only issue it didn't dynamically scale at all)
5) No dedicated healer or tank (Hours spent spamming LF Tank/Healer are gone)
6) No need for a specific group make-up to do dungeons (They've did dungeons with all engineers, warriors, and rangers)
7) Gathering nodes can't be stolen (It spawns for every player to gather)
8) Good fun PvP
9) Waypoints and Asura gates for fast travelling (No more spending 10 to 15+ minutes just getting from point A to point B )
10) No microtransaction items that give you a skill advantage
11) No subscription (You buy the game and that's it)
12) Players can be scaled up or down to play with higher or lower level players in dungeons (this can't be abused so they level faster or gain better items and the scaling is a little less than what an actual player would be at that level)
I can go on and on, this game is truly changing the MMORPG genre.

You actually have to pay for the game ($50 or $60), but there is no subscription. Not F2P in the sense of games like League of Legends (where you pay nothing at all to play it).

Will there be a subscription fee for Guild Wars 2? (Official FAQ)
Nope. Like the original Guild Wars, there will be no subscription fee for Guild Wars 2. You just buy the game and play it online without paying a monthly fee.
Also to note: Guild Wars 2 will not be a pay to win micro-transaction game. GW1 wasn't and neither will GW2.

Oh goody. Maybe I should read the official FAQ instead of trolling around on fansites.
Unrelated: Maybe I'll finish my second playthrough of all of Guild Wars by the time GW2 comes out.... not!

Do you know about the Hall of Monuments? (Warning you do need to own at 1 game + Eye of the North Expansion)
When you complete achievements in any of the GW games and register them in the Hall of Monuments in Eye of the North, you gain in-game unlocks in Guild Wars 2. Things like armor sets skins, weapon skins, titles, pets & ranger pets, and etc.
I currently have 14/50 HoM points, but I haven't played GW in since early this year. Need one more achievement to unlock a title/pet/Ranger pet.

Yes, but honestly I have no one to really play with to get those, and for me MMO's are social-only games. I don't do SP mmo's. Grats on those points tho!

My favorite one: 26. The average length of a PvP match is about 8-12 minutes.
PvP matches in other games can last from 30m - 1hr. Usually you really don't gain a lot or anything from extended games.
