The second video game night is quickly approaching and we are expecting one of the largest turnouts that we have ever seen, even compared to the last Video Game Night. We are going to have three separate rooms available to us to have different events in each. We have 218 ABCD, 221 AB, and 316 ABCD.
218 is going to be the main room for this event. We are going to have the room split it two essentially, with one side being for the LAN and the other side being for the consoles. We are going to have projectors set up in this room as well to show what our games list is during the event. I would like to have 3 people help me out with this room. Here is the layout that we have chosen for this room if you are interested in seeing how it will look once it is set up.

221 is going to be for Rock Band and Guitar Hero. We got way too many complaints from people saying that it was too loud for the PC people to hear anything, even with their headphones on, so we are deciding to put them in a room where they can use projectors for the consoles. We are hoping this will cut down on the amount of noise, as well as the amount of time we hear Queen over 14 hours. For this room, if someone from the actual Official Breakdance Crew could make sure the chairs and projectors are set up properly as they are shown in this diagram, that would be awesome. Other than that, this room should be a piece of cake.

The last room that I need help with is 316. This is for the Starcraft 2 tournament that we are holding and the limit on it is 120 people. Because this is going to be lasting for the majority of the entire event, I want to have this room set up first in order to ensure that it is set up BEFORE noon. I would like to have an 3 people help me with this room as well. Here is the diagram for this room as well.

On top of the people that I would like to have help out, I want my Official Breakdance Crew to be there as well. I think if we can get about 10 people to help out in total we should be good to go for getting this event set up on time. I am going to be at the event about two hours early so that I can start setting up the rooms, so if you are able to show up anywhere between then and noon, feel free to head to one of the rooms and try to find me and I'll make sure you can help set up.

I have a question: the two desks with a pipe and drape in the SC2 room. Is this for the finals or..?

Yeah those are for finals. Those are going to be outside of the room so that they won't be bothered by the sound from inside the room.

Voting no, just because I'm not even sure if I'll be able to come that day. Hopefully, though.

That's awesome. Anytime you are able to come between 10 AM and noon would be awesome. Chances are I'll be in either 218 or 316 when you get there.

IB, are we missing any equipment or has it all been accounted for? I actually have most of the stuff I had home with me in the trunk of my car. It's mostly lan cables, but also 2 guitar hero controllers for the xbox 360. I have no idea whose controllers those are, so if you or gamma know just let me know so I can give them to their rightful owner.

As far as I know, we have everything. I put half of the equipment in 102A in the Engineering building for storage and will eventually just store everything in there. That way I can just grab a cart and bring it over instead of having to bring everything down to my car, unload everything and then go up to the room. I don't know whose controllers those are but if you could bring the LAN cables to our Dawn of War 2 LAN this weekend that would be awesome. I want to have literally everything I can before the 26th so that I know we have enough equipment. I'm also starting to think that I will need to be there earlier than 2 hours XD

Alright so the final tally for the people who are going to be showing up early are as follows:
  • Destroyer1990
  • gammasts
  • Marius
  • ohmecks
  • havoc 1914
  • Zenebatos

  • tacomaster
If you still want to show up early to the event to help with setup, then feel free to drop by into any of the rooms and look for myself and I will give you something to do. See you guys at the LAN!

As it turns out, at least one other member of my group wants to go to the event (albeit through anime spot and to play Pokemon Puzzle League), so we're not going to be working on the rocket on the 26th. I'm going to be able to help set up, then.

I didn't see this thread before, I made another "video game night 2" thread in the gaming section, haha.

But yeah, this lan will be hype. If I can make it I'll be at the regular pc section. Nice room setup btw.

Question, at the console area can we get other games going besides the music games like Super Smash Brothers and Marvel vs Capcom 3?

The Ballroom on the second floor will have consoles, the side room is solely for band-related games. To answer your question, I'm sure MvC3 and Smash will be played.

If possible, around 10 AM. If you can't make that, then anytime between 10 and noon is fine.

We have stuff members that will be walking around for security purposes. All you really need to do is lock your PC, unless you trust your friends not to meatspin you. ;)
