However, gnutella will always live on.

Pretty dumb that the RIAA is targeting individual trackers and not putting their effort into legislation against the activity itself. Putting the same amount of money into trying to compete with file-sharing networks as they have into fighting court cases against Limewire & Co. might have actually gotten them somewhere.

Good. Limewire was garbage. Terrible quality, terrible users, and bad files. I used it once, several years ago. I see it all the time today. It's not any better.

It doesn't sound like they're shutting down the service, though, so much as they are forcing them to remove all copyrighted material and ban searches of such material from within their program.

Yeah, P2P itself isn't illegal, just the content that was being pushed across users. However, they might as well shut it down...still a bunch of fgtnoobs that use it.

Well it's a good thing that program doesn't use open-source code so that another one that is exactly like it (other than frostwire) pops up in its place.

/sarcasm

In all reality I see way to many people using Limewire and I just ask if I can look at any random search and the first one is always about a girl orgasm and every link might as well be called virus.exe. Yet people would still get them then come crying when they got a virus.
