How are you connecting your PS3 to resnet? Just using an Ethernet cable to the wall port?
Make sure to register the PS3's MAC address into resnet as well: http://resnet.ucf.edu/reg1.htm

I could do directly into the wall, but can you register a PS3 with resnet, or could I connect my laptop to the wall then have a ethernet hub going from my laptop, plus I cannot access the resnet website from my PS3

You will need to register your PS3 with resnet: http://www.technipag...ac-address.html
Use a computer to access the resnet website, the device doesn't have to be connected to be registered.

Just get this cable. No registration, etc. Just plug it in and go. You basically use the power company's power network, which is what they use to monitor kilowatt usage, etc. Did I mention using the network is free?
