Ordered one yesterday and it arrived today. I purchased one of these in the past for $7 and it works well at a friends house I setup.

Its purchased from verizon but theres no obligation, contract or activation code/fee. Its just a normal wireless G router.

No coupon code required and it automatically has free overnight shipping. Enjoy.

This post is only so I can keep up with you, since you seem to comment on everything even if you don't have something to contribute. I want my post count to be over 9k like yours!

Are you buying one for each of your seven computers?

But will you have over 3,000 combined posts on two separate forums as well? If not then it doesn't matter. Besides, I bet you weren't even a IB+AP+DE student back in high school, and I know for a fact that you don't have seven computers or intern for NASA or anything cool like that. You should probably just give up.

Only thing I notice about your posts now is the signature. Pentium 4? You'd figure NASA would help more. Make your proc like, over 9k times better than everyone elses or something.

If it has HT then I guess I can half-way accept it, but still, for most games now it's not even worth it.

it's a 2.8ghz HT; the 5770 makes up for the losses, I haven't encountered a game yet that runs under 30fps.

I will probably upgrade to a 5850, before going to a core i7.

the processor is going to be the bigger bottleneck before the graphics card. I know for a fact that my graphics card can handle more than it's getting right now. It's OC'd at 900/1300 and the processor (Athlon X2 at 2.97) just isn't giving all it can. I'm in the same boat as you; nothing under 30 fps, but I want more.

Thread bump!

I just ordered one of these. I'm going to use it to connect to the second NIC on my desktop so that I can get wireless instead of having to create an ad-hoc network on my desktop. I plan to hide the SSID and use WPA2-AES, so hopefully no one else will catch on.

I find it very annoying that you're not allowed to use more than one device at a time. I can understand that they probably just want to prevent people having massive LAN parties on a single room outlet, but all I have is a desktop, netbook, and 360, lol. And I don't even use my netbook and desktop at the same time. Hell, I don't even use my 360, lol. No point in having a netbook if I don't have wireless, lol.

Isn't there someone on this forum that works for Resnet? Whoops, I just gave myself away, haha.

First, thank you for reviving one of the many CMS threads.

Second, I got this router when this thread showed up, and I gotta say it's been giving me a lot of trouble. Many times the internet just disappears, and I have to power-cycle the router so my machine can actually connect to the DNS resolver selvers and the DHCP servers. Wired straight to the wall, my desktop gives me no issues whatsoever. :(

Shit, I don't like the sound of that. Hopefully it'll work for what I need it for.

Probably has overheating issues....the problems described are typical symptoms of an overheated router I had in the past. We all know about the Netgear WGT624 that I mounted an 80 MM fan to and it still had heating issues.
