How many out there play HoN? It recently went retail so its not free anymore, I'm guessing not as many people still play it. Will there be enough at the LAN on Saturday for a inhouse or at least 5 people to play as a team online? I play regularly, I'm not amazing or anything but defiantly an above average player. Anyways let me know if you play on retail, my name is ZEAKE`

just to make this flamable, League of Legends LoL is and will always be better then HoN. You might as well play DoTA for free if you want to play HoN.

I'll stick with lol till Bloodline Champions is out

League of Legends is free. It's made by the same guys who made DOTA. I like it better than HoN, I never played DOTA so it was much easier to pick up LoL than HoN. You can make practice games against bots to familiarize yourself with the game or any new hero you want to play so you can actually learn a bit if you've never played, unlike Hon where any whisper of you being a new player is met with nerd rage.

Ya, basically it requires less skill, since:

- There's no creep denies
- There's no tower denies
- You can go pew pew at level one
- Tower AI is RETARDED.
- Hero selection for free accounts is RETARDED.
- "Copy" heroes on the other team is RETARDED.

LoL is just a mindless, more offense-based version of DoTA that caters more towards casual players who want to join a match and go pew pew as soon as possible instead of actually earning the right to make a Hat Trick.

can't you also buy shit in LoL to effect the gameplay (stats/spells not available for regular players)?

I'd be down to play DotA at any of the upcoming LANs, I could give you guys pointers or whatever if you wanted to improve at the game but I'm not very eager to play HoN (dota with horrid balance) or LoL (dumbed up version of DotA)

It was made by ONE of the guys who made DotA, not the current one who basically redid everything in order to make a balanced, competitive game.

The item guinsoo is named after the guy who helped LoL.

say what you want Zene, if u put 1/2 the time u spend in HoN into LoL u would already be 30, w/ full runes and any champion you could ever want....The only thing $$ gives you in LoL is Skins and Champions quicker then buying them with currency earned ingame. Who cares, you dont need any of that to have fun, you'll soon find the 3-4 champions you like and stick with them, and usually u only need 2-3 sets of runes, 1 for caster, 1 for dps, 1 for tank. Easily done in a month or two of game play and thats not playing 24/7. I put money into the game because for one i enjoy it, two i've gotten 300+ hrs worth of enjoyment from it (420 games played, avg 45min).

- If you want creep denies, play gangplank, he kills minions for a movement speed and attack speed buff
- Why tower deny when you can pop fortitude that makes towers invuln for 8 secs
- You can only go pewpew at lvl 1 if your playing against new people, wait till you get into higher rank games
- Cant really deny tower retardedness, they do some stupid shit
- How is it retarded, it gives you 8 choices a week to try out, with about 6 champions costing < 1000 IP (you get 100 ip a win, 60 a loss). You pick and choose which champions you want to own, you'll get them all eventually.
- They plan on implementing tournaments / competition ladders soon, with the option to have different methods of champion select in each, including alternating picks (not allowing dup champions in a game)

Truth is you just cant handle LoL hehehe, even rmm thinks so

From top to bottom:

Assuming I get avg 75 points per match, and the average match time is 30 minutes long, and considering that there are about 50+ heroes with prices averaging around... 1,500 points each. I would need to play... 1000 matches to get all the heroes.

...

That's INSANE. I've played less than 200 matches on my HoN account during the whole time I've had the game. I don't want to be playing for 2 months to freaking actually unlock the whole game. If I wanted to do that, I'd go play some strategy jrpg and spend the rest of my life unlocking shit in it. And I like trying out any character I want, whenever I want, whether it's somebody I like, or it's somebody the team needs me to play to counter a hero our enemies picked.

Also, part of HoN is being able to see your enemy team's composition and being able to counter their choices and adjust your team accordingly. Match setups like Banning Pick and Banning Draft add a lot of variation to the game, while the ability to actually look through matches and customize your match like you want definitely adds more to the game play value.

Regarding Gangplank, it doesn't fix the issue. Either way, to actually do something that was vital to DoTA I have to choose one specific character? Fuuuck that.

Fortitude for 8 seconds? Grats. HoN has a full tower invulnerability spell that comes with a 300 second cooldown. It can be activated by anybody on my team whenever they want, whenever they need it. You don't need to spec for it like you need to in LoL. Also, last time I heard, Fortitude doesn't prevent the other team from gaining a shitload of gold and making them go "FFFFUUUUU" when they figure out they went and destroyed a tower for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Ya, 8 choices a week, that can easily be countered by anything from the past week. Or the week before that. Or the one before that. At least HoN shows you descriptions of the abilities of the heroes your enemies pick in-game. With LoL, you're screwed if you've never seen the hero before or if your choices the current week suck dicks.

Cool, they plan on implementing something HoN has had since it was in closed beta. Cool story bro :D.

And you're right, maybe I can't stand LoL... probably because of the simple fact that having no kind of built in voice chat makes teamwork with pubs ridiculously stupid. Probably because of the fact that grass stealth is one of the gayest mechanics in the whole game. Probably because of the fact that the hero selection is ridiculous every week. Probably because of the fact that if I haven't paid for it I don't get the full experience.

Seriously, you can't flaunt the game as being better because it's free and then say that to actually unlock full gameplay you have to either play 1,000 matches or pay $30.

lol i was being mildy sarcastic in my post, Guess well never see i to i in this feud. All there needs now is a LoL vs HoN mode where your half of the map is in HoN and my half is in LoL and we battle it out, its like Inter-game play
