Here's a basic list of all the games we COMMONLY play at LAN's. If it's here, you may want it on your harddrive.

GAME NAME(Click to Download) - YEAR(Wikipedia Entry) - SCORE(Metacritic Page)

Why is Modern Warfare 2 on that list? Otherwise, looks good for an initial list. We'll want to add some other games at a later date.

Yeah Dawn of War 2 and Supreme Commander 2! O and Bad Company 2. What's with the 2's being the best?

List fails without Red Orchestra. Looks good otherwise.

There's several games on that list I haven't seen played at LANs, yet, but could be fun. Otherwise, it looks good.

I actually wouldn't mind if that game somehow made it on the list. It's a pretty good game (although not exactly newbie-friendly).

Let's do it! I have fond memories of that game on my friend's laptop.

Well, according to my steam friends list I'm one of three people in the club who even have it, so...

Necro yay, but I belatedly noticed... why are there even Metacritic scores in the list at all? They're horribly useless and also terribly unrepresentative of the listed games because reviews tend to favor SP over MP (ESPECIALLY for RTS games), and barely consider a LAN environment at all (which is why those games/mods are listed and not Deus Ex and etc).

Also, CoH was released in '06, not '03... And StarCraft 2 is out of beta.

On a side note, might want to replace the '&' with an "or" for "Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2 & Expansions" since the game can be played MP/LAN as long as you have one entry. That is, someone who only owns DoW 2 vanilla can play with someone who only owns DoW 2 Chaos Rising.

EDIT: Is SC2 even allowed to be on the list? Same for MW2. Besides that I don't think I've ever seen anyone play MW2 at one of our LANs, technically neither SC2 nor MW2 support LAN play ;)

Thanks for the updated info. I'll get to fixing it all when I get a chance.

I guess you could do a SC2 Battlenet-only LAN, but it would have to be very small or would take a while considering (from what I've heard/experienced) only a few number of connections are allowed per source. I've heard of a few server-emulators in the works that might be done in time, if the club was willing to implement such a crack / mod.

Edit: looks like there are some working LAN mods that a simple google-search can locate.

Are you still drunk?

Anyway, yay Tachyon for fixing some of the issues (notably though CoH release date is still wrong xD).

Starcraft 2 sucks; SC1 was better. At least it had LAN play.

Dawn of War II is 2-6 players, not 2-8.
