Gonna try that in a bit. I BSODed several times today. I couldn't even start Windows in safe mode, nor could I get startup recovery to work. I was on the phone with M$ for half an hour, and the guy pretty much said it was hardware issues. I tried using the Windows Memory test on the Windows 7 repair module, but it said it couldn't start the test because of an error.

So I either have a defective board or defective memory (or the two are incompatible). My question is, how do I determine which?

Update: Apparently the reviews for my memory on Newegg seem to indicate a lot of people are having the same problems... Looks like I'll have to RMA the memory...

Before you do, make sure the settings are all right in the bios (here's where the motherboard manual comes in handy: some times they don't use english correctly or mis-translate setting names).

Run a memtest and see how that turns out. If the sticks turn out bad, have someone else who has a motherboard that supports the sticks memtest as well to ensure its not your mobo that's defective.

I've only had one bad board and one set of bad RAM from my usual set of manufacturers on newegg, but that's out of the 100's of combinations I've ordered and they handled RMA quite well. Best of luck!

Memtest showed no errors, but most likely because I'm running from a warm boot. There have been several reviews lately from users who have been experiencing the same problem. I'll just replace the RAM. If i experience the same problem, then it's either the board, or the BIOS settings (although, everything in the BIOS seems fine...).

It's definitely the RAM: http://www.gskill.us...read.php?t=4059

I'll be buying a different set and returning this one.

I ran memtest this morning on a cold boot. I got something like 327739 errors. I adjusted the settings in the BIOS before hand, and still BSODed several times this morning. In fact, even an hour after attempting to load Windows, I was still unsuccessful. I finally tried something I read online, which was to remove one of the sticks of RAM. It worked.

The RMA is approved and I have another set of Kingston RAM on its way. Hopefully I'll have better luck with this.
