Steam is testing out a new UI. Try the beta out! (But know there is a bug that won't let you revert, they've promised to fix this asap).

I like most of the new update, so skipping the things they did right and moving on to the problems I see:

General
-Smaller memory footprint if possible (up to 220MB is used at times!)

Categories
-Categories need to have checkboxes for display so you can find games under multiple categories
-Categories should be assigned by a second list menu, not a seperate prompt box

Grid View
-Favorites should be enabled/disabled by a star in the top right of the game icon for grid view
-Steam needs to load bigger icons if possible for non steam games: some non steam games have 128x128 icons that look nice
-Scrolling acceleration should be enabled for the games list (like the store browser!!!!!)

Downloads
-There needs to be a "Cancel Download" button under downloads menu

Store
-Friends who own the game list should also include numbers for groups i.e. LANKNights: 49 members; FL Gamerz: 61 members etc.

PopUps
-Clicking messages should still make them disappear after a second

I like it a lot. Haven't had any problems with it so far, and the in-game browser is speedy as fuck (especially compared to the old slow shitty IE-based in-game browser).

Some things (especially the chat window) have a little bit too much white space and is a little too gradientified, but not too big of a deal.

I'm also not really a fan of the new games list thing, but fortunately it's pretty easy to make it look like the old way:

TL;DR: It's fast and it's pretty.
also kittens.

The current ingame browser does. not. like. Fark. At all. It's really bad, it seems like it's loading all of ads on the page as individual pages or something, so it keeps flickering to black every time you go to a different tab. And it gives an error if you try to go to actual stories...

What, between rounds in Neotokyo is boring sometimes.

At least, unlike at the start of the beta, it doesn't keep crashing the overlay/crashing games anymore while I try to do anything with it.

Oh wow, I see what you mean! I wonder why webkit's being so anti-Fark...
