just curious about how many people here are actually making the switch and how they are going about it. Did you buy a BluRay player or are you using a PS3 like me?

Also, what have you played that really looks good in BluRay? I added Monsters vs Aliens to my collection and let me tall you ... it was freaking amazing.

At my house I made the switch, and im using a PS3 like you since it was cheaper then a regular player. I thought the Dark Knight looked really good in BluRay.

Waiting for digital distro to get its act together as if I were to go Blu-Ray, I'd grab a Blu-Ray drive for my PC, but they're still relatively expensive for meh performance and the Blu-Ray discs themselves are expensive as well. But I'm more or less finding that discs are increasingly a pain in the ass both for the issue of portability and that I still have tons of videos on VHS that are all but unusable currently and neither DVD nor Blu-Ray will be much different in that respect without digitizing them.

we still have a shit load of DVDs. To be honest, i dont see the need to switch over to BlueRay yet. they are just too damn expensive right now. maybe in a few years when they drop in price. otherwise, DVDs look just fine for now.

Not to mention you can stream WMVHDs from your PC to your 360/PS3...

Not switched yet, going to wait a few years I believe. The movies on Blu Ray that actually take advantage of the capacity do look very nice, though.

Using PS3. Switched. I never pay more than $14 for a Blu Ray between Target/Best Buy sales, MovieStop deals, Blockbuster's 2 for $25, or Ebay/AVSForum

i think the best part about Monsters vs Aliens was that it's still 3D as it was in the theater. i hope i don't lose those damn glasses, though
