/tear

Many years of happy, error free RAID goodness ended this morning. I fired up my computer like any other Saturday morning and had Pandora running in the background, not entirely sure of the song but the last words that I heard were "it's a brand new day".... and then nothing. Everything locked up that was under disk I/O, then what was in memory ran until it needed to write something to disk. Explorer eventually gave out and that was that....

Reboot and the RAID was reported broken. I'm sad.

RIP 36gb Raptor [Resurrected]
2003 - Current

You were my favorite.

I gave up on it but after thinking about it some, I'll give it another shot.

What's spinrite? Some LLF / sector analyzing tool?

This was wayyy too easy.

Removed power and data cables from HD, re-connected everything.

Ran chkdsk off a Windows XP install cd.

Back in the game!
