Sorta unsure which one to start looking at for my build at the end of the year. Stuck really between the first two. The third is the top of the line Enermax which adds another 100$ to the price tag. I've used Enermax in two builds and they've worked awesome. My last powersupply was a cosair and it was and still is amazing just doesn't have enough wattage for the new build. Anyway just looking for everyone's opinions.

Listed and linked.

ENERMAX REVOLUTION85+ ERV1050EWT 1050W

COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro RS-C50-EMBA-D2 1250W

ENERMAX Galaxy EVO EGX1250EWT 1250W

found another one that is prolly better then the others. Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W

Also when i build all my old shit is going on sale. I'd prefer to get rid of it in bulk for huge discount and you can ebay/craigslist as you see fit.

I've been wanting to xfire/sli for a while. plus going to be running 12gbs ram and 4-5 hard drives. ATI recommends a 900+ watt psu for xfire so bump it up for all the extras.

I have 3 computers and my lady will not let me build another without getting rid or the others.

pretty much a dell with mobo/psu still running (w/ 2.2 ghz intel)

my HTCP which is a 2.6 ghz intel w/ a x800 ati gfx and asus mobo and enermax 450 watt psu

and my gaming rig now. 2.2 athon 3700+ 2gbs ram with asus mobo and PSU cosair 550 watt real power
also has 2 36gb raptors.

stuff like that.

I think MrE is trying to call dibs on my ddr1 ram i believe i have 4 gbs worth of ddr1.

I am keeping my gfx card, cdw/dvd drive, and prolly the case too. I'm thinking of modding it for more fans. but pretty much everything else has to go.

Get either of tthe Enermax PSUs. You can supply enough amps for your whole house :P.

If you have a nForce 4 asus board... those fetch a good amount. Especially if its SLI and what not.

Let us know what and when you are going to sell :).

A 1250w PSU can potentially draw upwards of 11A..... as you don't have 20A service in your house for 120v.... you will seriously have to consider installing a dedicated 15A outlet for that computer.

Computer / Monitor / Speakers / Misc will get scary close to 15A.

Sad.

Damn dude, get a good quality 800W unit and call it a day. ATI/Nvidia recommendations are only geared towards garbage that can't even handle their own ratings.

If you plan on running SLI GTX285 or Xfire 5850/5870's down the road...you'll just need something that natively supports 4 PCI-e 6pin connectors, or 2 x 6pin and 2 x 8pin...depending on what your future SLI/Xfire needs will be.

Various configurations, some modular, some 80 plus silver certified, different cables, lengths, wattages, etc.
But all enough for most SLI/crossfire high end rigs. Unless you plan on doing SLI GTX295 or CrossfireX 5870X2...then you will be looking in the 1KW range...but save yourself $100.

Sorry i apologize for the incorrect information. I researched it again and ATI/AMD recommends atleast a 600watt psu not 900. I think the 900 came from newegg's estimator for total system draw.

$50 for both sounds fine. Currently selling for $150 new because they don't manufacture them anymore.

I'll let you know when my parts are up for grabs. I have to build the new one first and copy all my old data over.

Realistically I don't think anyone needs anything above 1000w. Not to mention SLI and Crossfire are really a waste when it comes to price vs performance. If you're not building this til the end of the year don't bother with looking now as the products and prices will change within a few weeks.

Back when I broke my power supply in a very sad accident I was on this website for awhile just reading and rereading reviews before I finally settled on one. http://www.jonnyguru.com/

Granted you're spending way too much on a power supply by just looking at any of those. If you want to go all out on a power supply though this is as far as I'd recommend going http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817207001

But just to give you an idea. ATI's 5870 only requires a 500w processor while Nvidia's 295GTX only requires 680w. And thats not what they use. Thats what they use plus the rest of an average computer.

Thats just my 2 cents for you.
