there was talk a long time ago with this club of making a student union map for coutner strike...this was before source
anyways i was wondering if there was anyone who wanted to do this?
i know i cant make maps...havent tried..anyways

but i was curious and would love to play on this map

Well this would take some time...Personally, I can only make decent maps but I can't texture or do anything graphics related. The map would require a fair amount of custom textures in order to look decent. But currently I have too much time invested in school to make a map. I agree it would be cool...although if there would be a bomb site inside the union or anywhere on campus, I'm reminded of that article someone posted a little while back about a student that got arrested for making a cs map of his school lol.

or you could make it a hostage map. Ts spawn in the SGA office with hosties, CTs spawn in that long hallway that leads to the loading dock and the Pegasus ballroom

Reminds me of when Iran made some CSS maps of key ports. Although it was just a media thing to make them look like they are technologically advanced, the maps were very bad.

A map of the student union can raise concerns for the idiots that think a map made of a real life location is strictly for training for a future event...

I'd be up for helping make it, but we have to worry about it violating some school policy or sick freak's imagination. And I am not for being persecuted cause we want to play a videogame version of cops and robbers in a public building.

i would just say dont use any ucf logos so it looks like some regular building
and what about all the other maps of places like McDonalds and supermarkets

Those aren't locations you could pick out and say "that's right down the road from me! They're planning to bomb my workplace!" Or something like that. No one in particular is "threatened."

Why not change the layout just a little bit, too? Like put the food stores on the second floor instead of the first one? That's just an example though, but even something much more minor can be done, other than removing logos.

If the map didn't reference UCF and had some creative differences, it would be more likely to avoid controversy. Just make the main room a bit larger, change up the color scheme, and replace the logos everywhere with ones for a fictitious organization - Federal Collegiate University (FCU) or something. Replace the Pegasus symbol with a flying pig.
