I got mine here for $9. Enter the code FREESHIPPING. I had no problems with my order through Acortech. Only bad thing about this one is if the fans go bad, I *THINK* they are the slim ones, they aren't thick, so it will be hard to find a replacement. My hard drive is running at 97F/36C right now. I don't know what it was before, recently replaced my hard drive because the anti-shock crap broke. Hard drive worked fine til I moved the laptop.
Also look out for coolers made for desks. I don't know if she uses her laptop in her lap, but some coolers are like clipboards with a riser in the back and the fans exposed below, they're good for using on desks, but not for laps.

This reminds me of my dumbass freshman chic roommate. She has a Dell Pentium 4 laptop that she just leaves turned on laying on top of her bed's thick comforter. She then comes and bitches to me why her laptop will just turn off automatically sometimes. I keep telling her its the laptop doing that to protect itself, yet she continues to leave it turned on laying on her comforter. I've never seen someone care so less for a laptop to do something like that. I swear, I could kill her...

laptops dont have alot of space to spare, so i'd think that 60 would be okay. plus its in a girls room i assume, so the ambient temperature is going to be higher.
in a hot room and a cold room any cpu's temp is like night and day.

mobile processors run on less voltage, so they are built to run cooler, but are still hot because of the laptop's cooling.

I'm ordering a Mobile 2600+ to use in my desktop. Since it runs on so low a voltage at stock they are excellent overclockers - hitting 2.6 ghz on average. My friend reached 262 fsb (9.5x multiplier) on his. The better steppings are known to hit 2.7-2.9 ghz with proper cooling. However, the chip defaults at 133mhz instead of the normal 166mhz desktop barton, so you need to actually bridge two holes in the socket to default it a 166mhz (for higher fsb overclock).

Im using a desktop barton and I dont really understand why it would give me that option...not like I need to conserve battery life...

It doesn't just conserve battery life, it produces less heat. A64s have a similar feature called "Cool And Quiet" which clocks your CPU down depending on how you are using your computer. If you're typing a paper, you obviously don't need a full powered A64. Therefore, it clocks down, equaling lower temps, cooler hardware, and therefore, prolonged life.
