Show me a link of them hitting 6k in 3dmark2005. If it exists, it will cost over $2000. That's 4-6 times the price for a 20% increase in performance with little (if any) room for upgrading.

I was thinking of getting some sort of Gaming Laptop...after all they are portable for LAN parties...instead of lugging not only the box, but the monitor as well. ANd , of course less heavy.

I may agree with you that people should buy Desktops instead of laptops.

but... If you have the money a gaming laptop is very convient. I use mine all the time and my desktop as well.

I usually have them setup right next to each other in my apartment :)

That's just sad. Dell is so over priced it isn't even funny anymore. Go get a Toshiba, it's worked great so far *knocks on wood* and was a lot cheaper and is faster than one from Dell. :)

not if you get the cupons.. The toshiba's gaming ability is nothing compared to dell son. nothing like it.. They dont have a gpu to compare. Of course they have nice tablets HEHE..

And MWardhead, i have my laptop and desktop set up right next to eachother too :)... Pollux, i spend around 600 dollars to have a setup of a desktop that hits around the same 3dmark scores as you :).. I know about saving money rather than buying a computer (building it). I just took advantage of the fact my parents wanted to buy my a laptop for grad and they didnt know what i needed. I told them i was in CS and it required that i have very high specs and i showed them exactly what i needed. I had to tone down a bit when i showed them a $3k sager because they refused, so i just rigged out a 9300....
